Ask Morgana 155: William Edward Frost
William Edward Frost (1810-1877) was a Victorian Englishman who specialised in rather chaste nudes. We have seen before how coy chastity can, paradoxically, suggest eroticism, and how classical themes can half-disguise this. I advance the following three examples for your consideration. I don’t care for all of Frost’s paintings, but the work below show his skill at figure drawing and painting.
